Afikilidwe (let them be accessed) project is an Anawa programme, that will ensure that every household with a child with special needs have access to a radio. The majority of the Malawian population live in rural areas. Sadly, the majority of the population of children with special needs are also in the rural areas. Owning a radio is considered a luxury. Due to high unemployment rate in rural areas, many cannot afford aradio. Anawa children’s organization is embarking on securing radios to distribute to every household with a child with special needs. Many children in rural areas are isolated and lonely, and the radio will be the only way to connect to the outside world via media and thereby trying to combat isolation and loneliness
